(1) There is Hope that Change IS Possible!

For people who are “wired differently,” seeing the glass as half-full does not come easily. Coming to realize that a glass is refillable - and can be filled with something else - takes a paradigm shift. It isn’t magic; It's Magical! We, as humans, must work at it, play with it, flip things upside down. Sometimes it requires a step back to leap forward. Sometimes you have to believe before you can fly.
I believe in people's potential. “Look at what you DID do!” always elicits awareness of an accomplishment no matter how large or small. “Did you ___?" " Did you remember ___?" - "That’s wonderful!” Slowly, in spits and spurts, incrementally Change Does Come!
My greatest triumph is when people take delight in joyful moments with themselves, their loved ones, loving and accepting themselves and others as they are. I support people in developing skills that will help them thrive in a productive life, engage as an active member of their community, and love the life they live.

(2) I Know How Change Happens from First-Person Experience:
I’ve Lived This!
I’ve Lived This!

It takes one to know one, as they say. I’ve disconnected and melted down, too. I have lived those moments of not knowing where to start, let alone what to believe or where to go for help. I get it, and there are real things that make a difference.
Being “wired differently” has propelled me on a life-long quest to understand and figure out what actually works. What provides relief? What strengthens connections? What helps bring success in all aspects of life? This pursuit has led me through a maze of specialists, diets, medications, theories, systemized tools and approaches - each filling in a piece of the puzzle toward living life to its fullest and helping others like me do the same.
I’ve been immersed in this field of knowledge over the past four decades. I’m grateful to have learned from pioneers in the field. My professional training and experience empowers me to employ novel methods and ideas to establish profound connections, obtaining highly effective results. My personal experience enables me to untangle every little puzzle that comes my way, because I am one.

(3) We Start Right Where We Are, Get Our Bearings
& Plot Our Course of Exploration
& Plot Our Course of Exploration

I meet you or your child where they are, as they are, in each moment. Together we explore you or your child’s distinct internal culture, conventions, and methods. I begin to see the struggles and frustrations, the detours and the bluffs. I don’t rescue. I serve as a scout, continuously surveying for signs and signals, indicators like:
- Responsiveness to sensory stimuli
- Timing and sequencing skills
- Dexterity and balance
- Executive function and problem solving
- Interpersonal engagement styles
(4) We Co-Create Our Plan for Introducing Change
& We Fine-Tune It Together as We See Results
& We Fine-Tune It Together as We See Results

We will help your child learn to be honest, to reflect and to take risks. The same applies to you. The more honest and authentic your sharing, the more real you become to your child.
Together we co-create fun ways to discover how much and what kinds of supports are needed for change to happen. In other words, your presence is indispensable. You are invited to observe, play, and contribute to the conversation.
The time you share with your child outside of our sessions plays a pivotal role in your child’s development. We’ll discover ways to talk with your child that open up communication. We’ll find ways to engage in play that bring out the best in both of you. We’ll model interactions that your child can emulate as they grow.
There will be new practices to integrate at home and into daily life. Sharing your needs and concerns, attempts and foibles, will enable us to refine each exploratory practice, maximizing its potential for success. You will learn new ways of effectively parenting and cherishing your child even more for who they are.

(6) You Are Not In This Alone - It Takes A Village!

Many stakeholders are often engaged in helping people who are “wired differently” - medical specialists and other supports. With children there are educational services as well. Often each is working from their specialty’s perspective. Everyone is looking to you to lead that “village” of professionals, to coordinate information and make tough decisions on behalf of yourself or your child. Collaboration sounds simple. It makes sense. Yet, often there is no one coordinating the pieces of the puzzle. Miscues can easily happen:
I support you to be your own or your child's advocate. If needed I can also reach out to other professionals to exchange knowledge and understand their concerns. I gather information and recommendations, distilling down essential points into everyday terms. It is important you understand what is happening and have treatment that honors your values and beliefs. I help you decipher options and prioritize next steps.
There are a lot of moving parts. Caring for yourself and those you love is demanding enough. Mastering the system is an added burden that shouldn’t become an obstacle to getting access to the expert care you or your family needs. I facilitate collaboration because much more progress is made when everyone is working together.
- Information might not get conveyed adequately
- Terminology might be used differently by different specialists
- A step might need completion before the next can begin
